This wonderful statue of Frida Kahlo is created by Concepcion Aguilar of Ocotlan de Morelos, Oaxaca, Mexico. Concepcion is one of the four sisters Aguilar who were taught by their famous parents, Isaura and Jesus Aguilar. The parents fabricated mainly utilitarian items. The four daughters branched out and began making decorative figures related to life and tradition of Oaxaca, as well as figures of Mexican icons such as Frida Kahlo and also the Virgin of Guadalupe. Her work contains great detail, mostly related to nature.
